Fundación Conservación Marina Takes Part in a Territorial Meeting of the Patagonia Costa Integrated Territorial Program

On Tuesday, August 18, we took part in a new territorial meeting of the Patagonia Costa Integrated Territorial Program (PTI), held at the Trekauenu Community facilities in the commune of Maullín.

The session is part of the program's third year of implementation, a stage focused on consolidating its governance model and advancing the sustainability of the Patagonia Costa destination.

The activity brought together members of the Territorial Board in person around a working table and also included remote participation, which made it possible to hold a day of exchange between experiences from different territories.

During the session, the agreements and progress of the Stage 3 Plan were reviewed through a joint presentation and discussion. The program's main achievements, organized around five strategic pillars, were also presented as a basis for assessing progress and guiding next steps.

In addition, a virtual meeting was held with Marcela Godoy, manager of the Adventure and Nature Tourism Program in Atacama, an initiative led by CORPROA and the Atacama Tourism Association. Her presentation reviewed the achievements reached across its different areas of work and the main challenges to sustaining this type of initiative once PTI support concludes. The experience offered lessons applicable to the process of consolidating and projecting Patagonia Costa.

The session also included a technical presentation on Sernatur's Registration, Sustainability, and Quality seals, tools that are relevant for strengthening the competitiveness, formalization, and sustainability of tourism ventures. Afterward, the Trekauenu Community presented its work, identity, and connection to the Maullín territory.

Fundación Conservación Marina's participation in this meeting is part of its commitment to territorial management that links natural heritage conservation, sustainable tourism, and the strengthening of local communities. These coordination spaces make it possible to move toward a development model for Patagonia Costa built collaboratively among organizations, communities, public institutions, and tourism-sector stakeholders.
