The Curaco de Vélez Bay Wetland Natural Monument protects 59.7 hectares of coastal ecosystems on Quinchao Island, Chiloé. Declared a Nature Sanctuary in 2022 thanks to the work of FCM together with the Municipality of Curaco de Vélez and the community, it is a site of hemispheric importance for migratory shorebirds such as the Hudsonian godwit.
